Our Top 3 Family Favorite Christmas Movies

Hey Little Fish Families! If you haven’t already figured it out, we get pretty excited during the holiday season. Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year! It is a time of the year where everyone can open their hearts to show kindness and generosity to those around them. We don’t know about you, but we love seeing Christmas movies where these qualities are shown. So, we thought we would share some of our favorite Christmas movies to watch at home.

1. Home Alone

This classic Christmas movie is filled with fun and laughter for everyone in the family. Let’s be honest; there are times in most homes where things can get a bit crazy. Just like Kevin, you might find yourself thinking you don’t want your family. However, he soon realizes that he misses his family a lot. He loves them and wants them back. A central lesson in the film is seeing what is right in front of you. We often don’t know what we have until it is gone. Kevin only really sees what his family means to him when they are gone. He learns not to judge a person by their appearance. We see this in Old Man Marley, who is merely misunderstood and a kind person. Appreciate those around you and show kindness to everyone you meet.

2. How The Grinch Stole Christmas w/ Jim Carey

The Grinch shows us that every time you fail to appreciate others, you become a Grinch. This movie’s central message is that we are to care more for others than we do ourselves. Christmas time is a time of joy. Not just any kind of joy, mind you. This is the kind of joy that goes down deep into your heart and ignites the true spirit of Christmas. It’s the kind of joy that flows out of you onto others. It’s this kind of joy that changes the Grinch. It is profound and spiritual! Never forget to care for people more than for things.

3. The Santa Clause w/ Tim Allen

Who knew that causing a man in a red suit to slip off a roof would bring about tremendous change in life? Scott Calvin sure did not. This movie is terrific for so many reasons. One that stands at the forefront was the change that Scott experiences throughout the film. He begins to change as he begins to believe. We see him becoming aware of things like selflessness, love, and sharing. He learns about forgiveness, purpose, and the importance of choosing family above work. We can all do with more of that!

We hope you have ample time to spend snuggled up with your family this Christmas! If you have a favorite that doesn’t make this list, let us know so that we can be sure to watch it this month! Let’s all spread Christmas cheer this season and show goodness and love to those around us.
